Netflix confirms Sex Education season 3 filming is already underway with cheeky vid of cast returning to set

NETFLIX’s Sex Education is back filming as the show’s stars make a cheeky video to let everyone know the good news.

The comedy-drama is the latest hit show on the giant streaming platform to be given the green light to start filming again following a delay caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Netflix has confirmed filming for season three of Sex Education has resumed

Gillian Anderson, Asa Butterfield and other actors filmed themselves hilariously getting ready to return to work.

Netflix tweeted the cute video and captioned with some aubergines emojis in true Sex Education form.

“NEWS : Sex Education S3 is officially in production,” the tweet read.

The video showed Anderson who plays Dr Jean Millburn, trying to figure out how to work her phone.

While Netflix let fans in on a potential spoiler as Chaneil Kular got a cast made of his head[/caption]

“This is me preparing for Sex Ed… I’ve still got lockdown hair!” she exclaimed.

Her TV son Otis, played by Butterfield, packed way too many board games to take to set, said goodbye to his cats and put on his face mask before leaving his home.

Meanwhile, Chris Jenks (Steve Morley) is roused from his pampering bath to quickly jam some clothes into a bag, but not before he can slap a number ‘3’ on his bag that originally read Sex Education 2.

Fan favourite Connor Swindells (Adam Groff) cheekily tried on an Indiana Jones hat while wearing a black bandana over his face in the video.

But then the promo video gets interesting as one cast member is seen getting a cast done for what looks like will be a bust.

“Spoiler?” the video read, before revealing the actor underneath was Chaneil Kular who plays cool kid, Anwar.

The video also featured Chinenye Ezeudu (Viv), Tanya Reynolds (Lily) and grumpy principal Michael Groff played by Alistair Petrie.

Anderson then pop back up in the video wearing a prosthetic belly to show Jean’s pregnancy which was revealed at the end of season two as a cliffhanger.

Now that production for season three, Netflix has a target release date of August 2021.

Sony president of international production Wayne Garvie confirmed the plans to Deadline, given there’s no second wave or unexpected turn of events.

Otis Milburn actor Asa Butterfield, 23, revealed that filming should have begun in June but was postponed due to social distancing regulations.

The Boy In Striped Pyjamas star also commented on how filming would resume under the current guidelines.

Tanya Reynolds packed the essentials to go back to set[/caption]

He said: “It’s quite hard to keep the two-metre distance when you’re kissing someone or doing anything else.

“I’m sure that’s something they have realised. As well as that, when you’re on a set making film and TV, there are so many parts to this machine.”

Asa also lifted the lid on the season three premiere and the future of Otis and Maeve.

Season three will likely air in August next year

“A few things have changed. I’m excited.”

While Asa is “really happy” with the plan for season three so far, he shared his hopes for what he’d like show boss Laurie Nunn to include.

He said: “I want more of Otis and Maeve. We didn’t get so much of that in season two as we did in season one.

Sex Education seasons 1 and 2 are available on Netflix now.
