GILLIAN Anderson’s plush London pad is much more modern than her Downing Street home in The Crown – but it’s no less luxurious.
The 52-year-old actress has given an insight into her gorgeous property that she lives in with her three children – 26-year Piper Maru, Oscar, 14, and Felix, 12 – and her adorable french bulldog Nelson.

Gillian, who is most well known for her roles on Sex Education, The X-Files and The Fall, recently returned to our screens to play the role of Margaret Thatcher in the popular historical drama.
Season 4 of The Crown was released on Sunday and in just two days it has received extremely positive reviews – and especially Gillian as the first female Prime Minister.
The star has taken to Instagram to show off her stunning family home – which looks completely different to one of the 80s – when the period drama was set.
Her living room boasts an emerald velvet textured sofa, accessorised with various nude coloured cushions.

She has everything she needs to work from home during the current coronavirus pandemic, including an impressive Apple Mac laptop and ring light to make the perfect set up for a zoom call.
Gillian can set up her laptop in her living room, which boasts a huge TV, a fur rug and some trusty storage space.
Otherwise she can use her pop-up desk and place it in her room that features a solid wooden panel door, white walls and a vintage rug.
The kitchen looks to die for with its white marble work tops and splash back, accompanied with all the stuff she needs to cook up a storm.

Gillian recently opened up to The Sun about her portrayal of the first female Prime Minister and admitted that she researched heavily before filming.
She told us: “I let go of my preconceived ideas of Margaret Thatcher.
“I watched every video there was to be watched on her. Her manner, her religion, how she walked, talked and moved. Getting into that wig definitely helps.
“Never in my life would I wear the shoes she wore.

“But walking in the way I learned to walk as her, and in those shoes, just helped so much — and wearing the really uncomfortable nylon stockings she might have worn.
“I swear they found them in the bottom of a box in a Salvation Army because I don’t think they make them any more.”
Gillian’s partner, who has been dating screenwriter Peter Morgan for the past four years, is actually the creator and writer of the hit Netflix series.
She recently opened up to Harpers Bazaar about how the pair get on in a working environment.

The star revealed: “For our own sanity, and actually for the benefit of the relationship, we had very clear boundaries.
“I am not going to comment on the script, but you are not allowed to comment on the performance!”
Meanwhile season 3 of Netflix’s Sex Education– where Gillian plays Dr Jean F. Milburn – has been confirmed.
The comedy drama started filming for the highly anticipated series in September after Covid-19 brought filming to a halt.
