BRAS – we all have a love/hate relationship with them.
On the one hand they can do wonders for our boobs; plus they’re supportive, functional and complete any fancy underwear set.

But, on the other hand, wearing one can be super uncomfortable and pointless – especially in the warm weather.
Sex Education star Gillian Anderson recently revealed she’s never going to wear a bra again post lockdown as they are just “too f***ing uncomfortable”.
Becca Costello, 25, from Dunfermline in Scotland, couldn’t relate more to the 52-year-old X-Files actress.
The customer services advisor – believes her boobs are bigger and better – all thanks to the fact she’s NEVER worn a bra.
“I have actually never even owned a bra,” admits Becca during an exclusive chat with Fabulous.
“I’ve tried them on before, but I just really didn’t like them. I find them so uncomfortable and so restrictive.
“I hate it when people tell me that you get saggy boobs if you don’t wear a bra because I think it’s the complete opposite and it’s a myth.
“I have read things that say if you wear a bra, the muscles don’t have to do as much work, and that is actually what makes them sag.
“So that’s my counter argument for it; My boobs have been able to grow and they’re in a really good shape because they’ve never been restricted by a bra.”
Despite having never had her boobs measured, the 25-year-old believes she’s a 34D – and doesn’t care that people think she should wear bras.

She doesn’t see the point in them and she even insists her boobs are perky and unsaggy because of her refusal to wear bras.
Unfortunately Becca’s hatred for bras isn’t always met with a positive response – especially from her grandmother Elizabeth, 69.
She adds: “I think it’s an old wives tale that not wearing a bra makes your boobs saggy. For instance, my gran, she’s nearly in her 70s and she’s constantly telling me off.
“She always says to me, ‘Becca you need to start wearing a bra, you’re going to regret it and you’re going to get saggy boobs.’
“So every birthday and Christmas, she gets me bras for presents as a hint but I never ever wear them.
“I just say to her that I’m adamant I hate wearing them and I’ve managed this long without wearing one so why would I now?”
She also takes the bras she’s gifted from her gran to the clothes bank – so that they go to people who will wear them.
Becca admits she ‘feels bad’ that women with ‘really big boobs’ have to wear bras for support – but says she’s lucky that she doesn’t.
She can only see herself wearing a bra in the future if she ends up with “absolutely massive melons” that she couldn’t control without a bra.
She says, “If I had a few kids and my boobs were giving me black eyes when I go up the stairs, maybe then I’d change my mind.”
But day-to-day she feels confident about her chest and is complimented about her boobs.
“I do get comments saying that I have perky boobs, and I think it’s because I don’t wear a bra that they are perky. My boobs have grown bigger and better 100%,” she says.
Most compliments she gets come from females her own age – and she says it’s really nice to see girls being nice to each other.
“People ask me if I’ve got fake boobs – which is a really nice compliment. I have on the odd occasion tried on bras but I just find them really uncomfortable.
‘In some clothes it’s probably quite obvious I’m not wearing a bra but I just don’t really care at this point.”
Nobody has been brave enough to make a comment about Becca’s braless chest to her face (other than her gran) but she admits she can always tell when people are looking – just from their eye line.
But it may surprise people that it’s often women more than men – with the 25-year-old revealing females seem ‘more bothered about her boobs than guys.
However she notices more stares when she’s wearing a tight outfit or when the temperature drops.
She adds: “If I’m wearing something that’s quite tight, and obviously if it’s quite cold, a lot more things are on show but I don’t try to hide it.
“I get more judgmental looks from older women but it doesn’t bother me at all, if anything, I find it quite funny. I think it is just ridiculous. I mean it’s just boobs isn’t it.

“Guys can walk around with their tops off when it’s hot, I don’t want to wear a bra because I find it really restrictive, I couldn’t think of anything worse, so I don’t see how it’s any different.
Becca believes women think they have to wear bras to make others feel more comfortable, but insists she isn’t going to make herself ‘uncomfortable’ for the benefit of others.
Plus, she says boobs were never meant to be in bras.
“My other argument when gran is telling me off is that boobs were never intended to have bras on them,” she laughs.
“Back in the day, women didn’t wear bras, it wasn’t even a thing. So it’s not natural.”
While the 25-year-old is determined on her quest to never wear a bra, she is sensible about her outfit choices when she needs to be.
She insists she isn’t trying to flaunt anything or go out of her way to make others uncomfortable.
But admits that she shows them off ‘tastefully’ when she goes out – as boobs are an asset.
Becca says: “My work has never said anything. I won’t go into work with a tiny little vest on where you can quite clearly see I’m not wearing a bra.
“I wear slightly baggier clothes because not wearing a bra is purely for my comfort. l wear appropriate clothes to work where you can’t see everything on show.
“My work is pretty casual so I stick to baggy t-shirts mostly. In my free time, I wear more tight-fitted clothes.
“Then when I’m out, it can sometimes seem like guys are talking to my nipples rather than my face. But to be honest, I think guys do that to women who wear bras as well.
“Some men are just like that, whether you wear a bra or not. I think women who wear bras probably have plenty of time where guys stare at the chest too.
“I don’t think it necessarily brings me more attention unless I’m wearing certain clothes
but because I’m confident in my decision to be braless, I don’t even notice it much.
“You will get weird people who look at you – either way – so you may as well be comfortable.”
