Have David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson returned for Season 11?
Let’s face it, The X-Files wouldn’t be The X-Files without the actors and their FBI alter egos, Fox Mulder and Dana Scully.
After delighting fans by returning to the iconic roles for 2016’s series 10 after a 13-year absence from the small screen and eight years after the last film version of the show, Fox confirmed David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson would be back for season 11.
The network said in a statement: “[Show creator] Chris’ [Carter] creativity, along with the brilliant work of David and Gillian, continue to propel this pop culture phenomenon, and we can’t wait to see what fresh mysteries Mulder and Scully uncover in this next chapter of The X-Files.”
However, don’t get too excited as Gillian has said this will be her LAST series of The X Files.
Who is William?
William Scully is the son of Dana Scully, and thought to the be the child of Fox Mulder.
In the original run, The Cigarette Smoking Man said he was the father but this was never actually confirmed.
It was alleged that CSM impregnated Scully with alien DNA which led to the first super-human child, William.
William was named for Fox’s father – it is said that he named him so to acknowledge Mulder as the father of her baby.
